Listen (Really Long!!!)

By Lyane

The moon is up before the sun is down
The baby laughs while the mother frowns
The child is happy, the opposite of the clown
Because the King died and the Prince got the crown

The wind blows when the car goes
The assassin laughed when he killed his foes
The girl stopped, but the boy still goes
And the little mathematician is counting on his fingers and toes

The sun rises and the moon sets
The trees bend and that is the strongest they are going to get
The child is worried but the mom does not fret
Because the dad is home and the basement is not flooded yet

Oh, the church has beautiful windows, and so does the store
But the pharmacy was never open past four
And the young man is going to work while his wifes other man goes in through the back door
I guess love and lies go hand in hand, that is why families are so poor

My mind processes things that are not important to me or my life
But my mind suffers for all the other people that do not know what is going on when they are not inside
And then again what does laughter have to do with tears whenever I look behind?
What good is hearing someone tell another person they love them, when they have planned the last time they dine?
So, to my best friends all I gotta say
Is that if you all think I am a bad influence, it is not like you had just met me that first day
You had known me for years and known of my ways
And what happened happened and we just gotta keep on with our days

If you lost respect, go gain it back
I am not talking about dancing like a girl from th streets and showing the men what you all got in the sack
I am talking about getting an education and respecting your body before you get a smack
Before you have such a bad reputation you would have to leave far away and never come back, ya heard?
