Ginger Creams

Serves:

Ingredients:


1/2 c White sugar
1/3 c Shortening
1 Egg
1/2 c Molasses
1 c Water
2 c Flour
1 t Ginger
1/2 t Salt
1/2 t Baking soda
1/2 t Nutmeg
1/2 t Ground cloves
1/2 t Cinnamon
1/4 c Oleo
2 c Powdered sugar
1 T Milk
1 t Vanilla

Method:


Mix sugar, shortening eggs, water and molasses.
Stir in remaining ingredients (except frosting) and cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour.
Drop dough by teaspoonfuls about 2" apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 400 for 8 minutes or until no indent remains when touched.
Immediately remove from cookie sheet and cool.
Frosting: mix 1/4 c.
oleo (softened) with 2 c.
10x sugar.
Beat in 1 T milk and 1 t vanilla until smooth and of spreading consistency.
